La rassegna Il Suono del Tempo nasce per riportare alla luce un patrimonio musicale spesso dimenticato: gli antichi organi custoditi nelle chiese del territorio della Spezia e della Lunigiana.
Strumenti inusuali, preziosi testimoni di epoche e tradizioni musicali, che troppo spesso rischiano di rimanere silenziosi, confinati nelle chiese dove sono stati costruiti e lasciati a prendere polvere.
Attraverso i concerti, l’associazione li fa nuovamente suonare, ascoltare e conoscere, restituendo loro la funzione per cui sono nati: fare musica.
A Monterosso al Mare, l’organo della Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista tornerà così a essere protagonista, affidato a Milena Mansanti, in un programma dedicato alla grande tradizione organistica europea.
Un invito ad ascoltare non soltanto la musica, ma anche la voce di uno strumento antico e del luogo che da secoli lo custodisce.

The Il Suono del Tempo concert series was created to bring to light a musical heritage that is often forgotten: the ancient organs preserved in the churches of the La Spezia and Lunigiana area.
Unusual and precious instruments, witnesses to different eras and musical traditions, which all too often risk remaining silent, confined to the churches where they were built and left to gather dust.
Through its concerts, the association gives these instruments the opportunity to sound again, to be heard and to be discovered, restoring them to the purpose for which they were created: to make music.
In Monterosso al Mare, the organ of the Church of San Giovanni Battista will once again take centre stage, performed by Milena Mansanti, in a programme devoted to the great European organ tradition.
An invitation to listen not only to the music, but also to the voice of an ancient instrument and of the place that has safeguarded it for centuries.
